Does Paxil Exacerbate Anxiety?
I have been on the anti depressant lexapro 20mg for years, and just recently switched to paxil 40mg. I am on day 9 of taking that. The first 5 days I took half a pill of 20mg, and the past 4 days the full pill. My anxiety is really bad. I can t think straight or anything. Is it just my anxiety, or is the paxil doing this? I know the meds can take a bit to work.

Paxil is an antidepressant given in cases of anxiety disorders so it is quite unlikely that it will exacerbate anxiety.
As you have recently switched over from Lexapro to Paxil, you will have to wait for 7-10 days for its effects to start and 6-8 weeks for full desired effects.
