Does Oxybutynin Cause Tingling In Jaw And And Tounge?
A few months back I was experiencing a numb tingling sensation in my jaw, tongue and lips. My doctor had no answers for me. I recently took a medication I had not taken in awhile and the symptoms returned. The medication is Oxybutynin. I can find numbness and tingling of the hands and feet in the side effects list but not the face. Could it still be an unlisted side effect or do you think it is something else?
I can understand your concern. Oxybutynin is not associated with the numb tingling sensation you are having on the tongue and jaw area.
In addition, as you have had this tingling episode before in absence of Oxybutynin, the cause is different than the side effect of the medicine.
It seems that you are suffering from Vitamin B complex including Vitamin B12 deficiency. When the levels return to normalcy, you stop having this sensation while it returns with deficient levels.
I would recommend you to start daily pills of Vitamin B complex that includes vitamin B12, too. If the condition is not improved within 15 days, then a dentist or physician should be seen to examine your oral cavity and for further investigations.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
