Does Oxybutynin Cause Constipation?

my wife is taking oxybutynin dr perscribed 15 mg 3 times a day she has been on it for about 3 weeks i ve been reading about it and she has constipation for a good 2 days i want to stop it but want to known can she just stop it or does she need to wean off it thank you rich

Yes oxybutiin can cause constipation, and it may well be the reason , but other reason should be first tried before stopping the drug like excessive fluid , fiber intake, and mobility , this may help. however if you want to stop the drug , it can be stopped without tapering but it depends why it was started as those symptoms can reoccur . so i would personally advise to talk to the doctor who prescribed and express your concern , I hope he will find a solution to it.
