Hello,

Nifedipine is a calcium channel blocker commonly used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (chest pain), and also premature labor.

It is not used to treat insomnia or difficulty in getting sleep. However, during pregnancy, it is used to delay labor. It is not known to cause any fetal anomaly, so continue to take it as prescribed by your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
