Does Nifedipine Application Cause Weakness?

I saw a specialist Friday(rectal surgeon) after almost three years of having rectal pain. His diagnosis is an anal fissure, which is exactly what I thought it was. Now my question, is , the medication he prescribed is Nifedipine 0.2% / Lido 5% three times daily. After applying it I feel soo bad .. just sucks the life out of me. No energy. Is this a normal reaction to this medication

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

No, this is not a typical reaction to the topical form but persons may respond differently to medication.

The most common side effect headache which tends to occur within 30 mins of use.
Dizziness, heartburn and flushing can also occur.

If there are no other likely causes of the fatigue or weakness that you are experiencing then you may want to consider alternatives.
There are other topical options that can be used that you may be able to tolerate better.

It would be best to speak to your doctor for assessment.

I hope this helps
