Does Neuroforte Contain Folic Acid?

Hi, I am taking Neuroforte (issued by my doctor) for numbness of hands. I am also trying to conceive and have been taking folic acid at the amount recommended by my gynaecologist. I understand that Neuroforte is a B complex supplement but I do not know if it contains folic acid. I am concerned about taking too much folic acid. Appreciate your advice on this. Thanks very much.

Hi,

Neuroforte contains vitamin B6, ginkgo, amino acids and magnesium and other vitamins. It does not contain folic acid and hence you can take folic acid as recommended by your physician. Folic acid should be taken right from the time of conception to prevent neural tube defects in the fetus. You can continue the drug during early first trimester.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
