Does Mucinex Help In The Treatment Of Strep Throat?

Does mucinex help strep throat at all? I have antibiotic but my throat is still killing me, i need something for the pain and to get the swelling down. Ive been taking ibeprophen and tylonal regularly to help but it only does so much, ive tried the numbing cough drops and even throat coat herbal tea, please help.

Yes, you could take Mucinex - cold, flu, sore throat preparation to reduce the pan of your sore throat.

You could also use gargles - salt water gargles are effective. Place about a couple of tea spoons of table salt in a glass of water and mix thoroughly. Gargle with this water and spit the water out. Keep doing this 5-6 times/day.

Continue with the antibiotics, ibuprofen and paracetamol.
