Does Metformin Cause Heart Attacks Or B12 Deficiency?

I m 55 yr. old male who s 50lbs. over weight. I m currently in a pre diabetes range. My doctor just started me on topiramate and metformin to so that I can avoid type 2 diabetes. I m very concerned about the risks in taking metformin. He didn t tell me about a B12 deficit issue or the heart risks. I started taking B12 today. I m scheduled to see him in another 3 months. Another note, due to back issues I m not able to to do much in the way of exercising right now. In time, I will be. With exercise, healthy diet and having lost weight, might it be possible to avoid diabetes without the use of these drugs?

hi
you get Diabetes once it can be kept under control but it cannot be cured so keeping your diabetes under control is the best option. since you are taking metformin it doesn't cause any Heart Attack or vitamin B12 deficiency it may slightly cause some gastritis. it's better to check HB a1c levels in aeroplane at least 3 months wants to keep your sugar levels under control. healthy foods and healthy diets can keep your blood sugar under control but it cannot cure your diabetes. brisk walking would be the best physical activity for controlling diabetes at least for 30 minutes a day thank you.
