Hi,

Losartan potassium is angiotensin receptor blocker which acts as an Antihypertensive medication to reduce blood pressure. It blocks the hormone which makes the blood vessels narrow. For that, blood vessels become widen and reduces blood pressure. It is effective in preventing of renal disease in patients with DM by interfering with renin-angiotensin system. It lowers intraglomerular pressure by decreasing efferent arteriolar pressure of kidney. It excretes more water and salt via urine. It also helps in reducing proteinuria to protect kidneys. It helps to enhance the activities of kidney.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
