I was taking lisinopril with hctz the dr told me that was why I had angioedema, I went to allergist (have history of uticaria) she told me to go ahead and try lisinopril again and my internal medicine Dr agreed, I am so scared of the episode I had at work no I have to carry an epi pen. any recommendations? I am also Diabetic. Thank you.
Hi , welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have read your question and here is my advice. ACE inhibitors ( lesinopril ) are pretty notorious for causing angioedea ,so if it has happened after the drug was started , this most probably was because of the drug, in such cases i would personally advise to avoid these drugs . Hopes i have answered your question .I would be happy to answer any further question if you have.
kind Regards n Dr Raha
