Does Herceptin Cause Burning Sensation And Itching On The Face?

I would like to know if having a feeling in your face of it swelling (but it is not), such as burning and itching a normal reaction to taking Herceptin (and/or other chemo drugs)? I had an infusion of Herceptin (503 mg) yesterday, and my entire face feels as though it is having an allergic reaction, although it is not. This feeling lasts for a while and is very irritating. Is this normal?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It might be an allergic reaction.

As a first line management antihistamines like pheniramine can be tried.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
