Does Hashimoto's Thyroiditis Cause Swelling In The Tongue?
I have hashimoto, diagnosed last year. As of the past few months, my tongue has enlarged and become scalloped. It feels rough although it doesn't look it. When I eat very healthy and drink a lot of water it doesn't bother me. I would like to know if this is a result of my thyroid condition or something else completely. I also noticed a small white patch on the left side of my tongue. It doesn't hurt. I went to the doctor around Christmas because it felt like I burnt it on food and he said I did. He perscribed me a topical gritty paste in a very small tube and it worked. Since thrny tongue has had this issue. ...

It might not be the thyroid dysfunction but it seems to be the stomatitis that affected your tongue. Second it could be a dental disease that might affect the tongue but it is not the thyroid disease (Hashimoto's disease).
I would advise to see the dentist first.
