Does HPT Showing Faint Positive With History Of Having PCOs And Laparoscopic Ovarian Drilling Indicate Sure Pregnancy?
Hi doc, I'm having pcos and had a laparoscopic ovarian drilling on 28-08-2013. I am 5 days late for my periods n did a hpt n found a faint positive after 5 mins. I hav heard dat pcos women wil have low hcg levels so I was wondering whether I am pregnant? Hope I am.....
Hi, Thanks for the query. After undergoing ovarian drilling regular ovulation is possible in case of PCOD. If you had unprotected intercourse around the time of ovulation, there is possibility of pregnancy. But as you got faint line that too after 5 minutes of adding the urine, the result may not be taken as confirmative. So, once go for quantitative blood test for pregnancy. This helps in confirming the pregnancy and also in finding out the beta hcg levels. According to result, if needed you can go for beta hcg injections if your doctor recommends. If test comes negative, the possibility of pregnancy is less. Start taking folic acid supplementation from nowonwards. Take care.
