Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Divakara's Response
HI
First of all the treatment of PCOS with Glucophage is correct . And any medicine can cause allergy like Itching but the chances with Glucophage is very less .
So what I advise is you to continue Tab Glucophage and also take Tab Atarax 10mg 3 times a day for 3-4 days ( this will reduce your Itching ).
For Weight reduction its a combined dietary and exercise regime that has to be followed strictly . I advise you do atleast 30 minutes of aerobic exercise daily and also take a Dietician consult for a low calorie diet .
I advise you get to tested for Thyroid as this condition is commonly seen in PCOS . The test is Fasting TSH , T3, T4
