Does Flioinolone Acetonide Help To Cure Hairloss? Curing Time?
I have been using the Fliocinolone Acetonide twice a day for for almost 2 weeks. I was just wondering does this help everyone for the hair loss problem and how long before it takes affect if it does help. My doctor had given me the prescription for it and has also sent me for blood work to see why I am losing my hair.
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Flucinolone acetonide is a steroid and it cannot be used in each and every case of hair fall. It might be used in eczematous involvement of scalp or in cases of hair fall where the cause is autoimmune or inflammatory. As far as hair loss is concerned firstly it has to be seen whether hair loss is scarring( permanent) or non scarring( temporary) and then by analysing the pattern of hair fall, scalp skin and hair shaft a probable diagnosis is made. Diagnosis confirmation in few cases may require skin biopsy or blood work( to look for hormonal derangement, thyroid disorder, iron or ferritin levels or any other nutritional deficiency).
Hope that helps. Take care
