Does Femilon Cause Delayed Periods?

Hi. I am 30 yrs old and took my femilion medicine continuously in the month of July after which my periods were normal in august i.e within 28 days. In august I took the tablet for a week and stopped its usage . this month my periods are delayed by 5 days already and as per I-can test kit the result is negative. does this tablet cause delay in menstrual cycle if stopped? would like to mention that my partner had used other method of contraceptive.

Hello,

Oral contraceptive pills (like Mala D, Femilon) with a mix of estrogen and progesterone, two female hormones, are used by some women for this purpose. So the progesterone withdrawal leads to menstrual bleeding. Then the hormone (active) pills are again started after a break of seven days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
