Does Duphaston Help In Faster Conception?

I have been trying to conceive for more than a year now. I m a case of polycycstic ovaries and irregular menstrual bleeding. Each time I visit my gynecologist, she gives me duphaston for day 16 to 25 of the cycle for 3 months and tells me that this will make my chances of conceiving better. My question is how will duphaston help me get pregnant?

Hi,

Duphaston contains Dydrogesterone containing progesterone hormone. Progesterone helps the uterine epithelium to maintain secretory phase which is a need of preconception atmosphere. But as there is enough time period for the same, other possibilities of in vitro fertilization can be discussed with the doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
