Does Duphaston Cause Hormonal Imbalance?
hello doctor,
I was taking duphaston for 10 days three months ago.
I gained 24 pounds despite being very active, working out 5-6 times a week, and having healthy diet.
Did the intake of duphaston enlfuenced on my hormones balance? how long will it last? how long will it wear off? do i need to take any other additional hormones to get in balance? Thank you
Another question, i had a misscarrige, are there any other ways to prevent future misscarriges?

Good day.
Noted your point. By analyzing your question, i presume that progesterone was given to you after the 12-14th day of periods in vie of previous abortions. Or it might have been for regularising the periods.
Absence of enough progesterone can lead to miscarriage. Duphastone is a type of progesterone and to be frank, it doesnt cause much weight gain. The weight gain was probaly due to the rest you took after the miscarriage ( if you did take rest) .
The effects of progesterone wears off fe days after the drug is withdrawn. So please do not worry. Please listen to your gynecologist .
Future miscarriage prevention measures is based on the cause of your earlier miscarriages. Of course, there are lots of preventive measures depending on the cause of miscrriage. Supplementing with progesteroe in the second half of menstural cycle is one of them.
