Does Dogmatil Help In Curing Diverticultitis And Is It Safe For Mental Functioning?

Hi Doctor, I am suffering from Diverticulitis and I am getting flair-ups frequently. During flair-ups my doctor puts me on antibiotics and Dustapataline and liquid diet. on this flair-up, he prescribed small dose of Dogmatil. I saw that it is given for treating some psychotic cases. The question is, does Dogmatil has any positive effect on my case and is it safe to take without any effect on my mental functions... thanks for your effort YYYY@YYYY

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

this is an antipsychotic medication which has nothing to do with diverticulitis. I can't explain why your doctor prescribed it to you...

This drug may indeed impair cognitive functions and cause sleepiness, slow thinking, etc. Before changing anything in your regimen be sure to talk with the treating doctor first.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind Regards!
