Does Butalbital Interfere With Dental Anesthetics?

is it possible for butalbital to interact with the numbing medications in dental procedures? I had to take 2 yesterday for severe headache, and today my mouth would not numb. I don't usually have to take 2 in one day, and my mouth usually responds just fine with dental anesthetics.

Butabital is a barbiturate and has mild interaction with dental anaesthesia and if taken at different times it will not cause any severe side effects..

As far as lack of effect of dental anaesthesia is concerned, it can be probably due to severe infection and pus formation that will reduce the effect of anaesthesia..

So it is advisable to discuss with your dentist and and he can change the drug he is using in anaesthesia that can have a better action and help in numbing so that treatment can be appropriately done..
