Does Atenolol Cause Increase In Blood Pressure Level?

I just started using a 1/2 tablet of atenolol. I have been taking lisinopril (40mg). I was told to take the atenolol because I was frequently going into PVC. Now that I have added the atenolol my blood pressure is running 106/200. Except when I was in PVS, blood pressure was pretty much normal 120/80. Is the atenolol causing this high pressure?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Atenolol is not likely to cause an increase in blood pressure because it is used to help control blood pressure.
It is also used as a hypertensive drug so it would not cause blood pressure increase but decrease.

You may need to monitor the readings. If they remain elevated then your doctor can review you to determine the cause and also may suggest additional blood pressure medication.

I hope this helps
