Yes AMLODIPINE does cause swelling of feet .indeed it is its most common side effect as it cause decrease in heart contractility.. ATENOLOL on other hand is a Beta blocker agent .and its most common adverse effect is DROWSINESS/IRRITABILITY/FAITGUE occurring in 10-15% of patients using it. But as your are hypertensive patient though you have not mentioned time since your diagnosis.. Edema of feet mostly after mid day can be a sign of HEART FAILURE which is a common sequel to hypertension.. I will advise you to visit a CARDIOLOGIST if you are also symptoms like SHORT OF BREAFH specially on lying down,dry cough and increasing fatigue making you unable to complete your daily chores and should have an ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY.. Otherwise there is nothing much to worry about your symptoms if echo cardiography Turns out to be normal.
