Do The Stitches From The C Section Procedure Dissolve On Their Own?

I had a c section almost 4 weeks ago and there is one stitch on either side of the incision. Will these dissolve or do they need to be taken out? I wasn t given any aftercare info from the government hospital I attended. The skin around the one stitch on the right is getting irritated and oozing a little.

The stitches usually have to be taken out. If you are having irritation and oozing around the stitches, you could be developing an infection. You need to see your doctor and have the stitches removed. I suspect you have one long stitch within the incision, and you are just seeing the ends externally. These can be tricky to remove, so have your doctor do it. The stitches won't dissolve on their own. Hope this helps.
