Do Severe Cramps During Menstruation Indicate Vitamin B12 Deficiency?

I am 45 years old and have been experiencing dizziness, fatigue, pins and needle sensations and overall brain fog for the last few weeks. I take no medications, no allergies to meds and i work in the optometry field but have no health insurance currently. I am a fitness instructor and am usually very active and my diet is normally pretty clean. I dont take meds but do drink Shakeology every day. I also get migraines occasionally and take 3 ibuprofen or exedrin migraine. I suffer from horrible cramps during my periods so occasionally take a muscle relaxer. no other meds. could this be a B12 deficiency? I just bought some B12 tablets but can not afford a dr visit right now. I have 6 children and my husband is disabled.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Vitamin B12 deficiency is not associated with manifestation of cramps during menstruation. Taking Vitamin B12 would help you to overcome symptoms of pins and needles.
To overcome dizziness and fatigue, you need to supplement with iron capsules.
To overcome menstrual cramps, you need to take medication containing Mefenemic acid with dicyclomine.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
I find this answer helpful
