Do Redness In The Vagina Along With Mild Stinging Sensations Indicate Vaginal Tear?

Me and my boyfriend had sex right after my period. After a few minutes of going at it, it hurt very bad. we read online that it s hard to get lubricated after your period. it s been a few days and I am having light, mild stinging sensations every now and then and the inside of my vagina looks very red and irritated. is this a result of vaginal tearing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank You for trusting HealthcareMagic

Irritation and redness in the vagina could more possibly be due to a vaginal infection than a tear.
Speculum examination and culture/microscopy of vaginal secretions can confirm the diagnosis. Please be advised to follow up with your gynecologist.

Hope I was able to help you
Please address further questions
