Do Pioglit Tablets Unsafe In Diabetes And Causes Bladder Cancer?

Dear Sir,
I am using pioglit tablets for controlling my diabetes.Now It has been reported that Pioglit has been found to be unsafe as it may cause bladder cancer.
I have been taking the medicine since the last 6 months. Should I continue or change over to some
other substitiute?

Dear Goel,there are some reports regarding association of Pioz and bladder cancer.
since you are using only for past 6 months I suggest you to stop and go for other alternatives
the risk of cancer is observed in patients who took it more than 2 yrs.
kindly ask your doc to change to new Meds like DPP 4 inhibitors or sulpha
