Me and my wife live with a pet dog ( pug puppy) in our apartment our families are against keeping a pet dog , saying they will cause issues and health problems in my wife for getting conceived. There are no health related issues keeping a healthy pet dog and vaccinating him properly unless anyone in family is allergic to your pet.

Dogs can transmit certain Parasitic and other infection from them into human is called as zoonotic disease
So you can keep dog but keep it clean with regular bath
Try to avoid eating with dog in same dish of food
As such dog keeping doesn't lead any problem in conception
