Do I Need To Get My Child Vaccinated After A Dog Bite?

My 6 year old son was bitten by my pet dog (a slight scratch bite) dog is vaccinated also my son was also vaccinated for rabies as he was bitten before in year 2009 by a stray dog. I was told that this vaccination will hold for years. do i have to be alarmed of anything ? please advise - thanks

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Your son has Rabipur shots in 2009.
This prevents Rabies up to 6 months only.
Better Start Rabipur shots on 0,3,7 days.
Meanwhile observe the dog.
If the dog is alive and normal,no need of taking further shots.
Otherwise he has to take shots on 14 and 30 days.
0 day means day of starting shots.
