Hello,

Anxiety is commonly caused by stress. Learn to manage stress. Stay away from anything that triggers your emotional or physical stress. Anxiety can be cause by genetic factors. If anyone of your family member suffers from anxiety you may have a tendency to suffer from it. If you are suffering from an underlying acute distress disorder then it can trigger anxiety, acute distress disorder, if not managed results in PTSD.

Certain life events that are traumatic may cause you to suffer from anxiety. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a counselor and GP. The Counselor will help to counsel you and assess the factors that may cause anxiety. The GP will do a complete medical check up to detect an underling health condition that are causing you symptoms of anxiety and discomfort.

You will be treated for the underlying health condition that is detected. Symptoms of anxiety will be treated with anti-anxiety medications, physical therapy that will include talk therapy, massage therapy, CBT, etc. Cut on caffeine. Avoid financial worries. Avoid remembering traumatic events.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
