Do Elevated Liver Enzymes Cause Brown Colored Vomit?

On Friday I felt a little woosley , but worked in my garden picking okra and tomatoes, about mid morning I sat down to rest, and fell into a nap. When I awoke I was chilling, so went to bed. Afew minutes later I became nauseated. The vomit was very dark brown, and had a fever. I lost any energy to be able to stand. I went to the emergency room, and they ran tests--one thing they found was that my liver enzimes were elevated. Statins were removed from my supplements. Could the liver cause the dark brown vomit? Could the discolor be caused by my liver?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The brown colored vomiting could be due to stomach or liver problem. Cirrhosis can lead portal hypertension, so such vomiting can occur.
I need to check your reports for giving more comment.

I suggest you investigate with ultrasonography abdomen and endoscopy according to need. Viral marker investigation for hepatitis also should be done.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
