Do I Need A Higher Dosage Of Xanax For Panic Disorder And Generalized Anxiety?

I have had panic disorder and generalized anxiety my whole life. I had a prescription for Xanax .5mg t one point and felt I didn't need it for a while. I now have a prescription for .25 but have needed to take 2 pills at a time two to three times a day for my general anxiety which has been displaying in normal anxiety along with extremely short fuses and irritability. I am looking into possibly a new dosage and frequency prescription or a different medication or possibly the extended release. The current prescription is written for once a day as needed. I have 8 years sober from alcohol and have never been a drug user. I get no "high" from it but it has immensely changed my life to take it in the way I have been. It has helped me as a toddler teacher, with my kids, school work, marriage, and even my sobriety to not be in constant irritable anxiety. Any suggestions or ideas on what might be a good route to talk to my doctor about?

Instead of thinking to increase the dose of antianxiety drug it is better to bring back your confidence and keep your moral value high, try to think in positive way increasing the dose wont solve your problem but this could again lead towards the high dose demand, and that would not advisable, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
