Do Concerta And Bisoprolol Elevate Liver Enzyme Levels?

I have Hep C, ADHD and high blood pressure. My liver enzymes are 3 to 5 times what they should be and I am taking 3 meds: Concerta 54mg, Anlodipine 5 mg and Bisoprolol 5 mg daily. Are any of these meds likely to generate high enzymes and low platelets?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi thanks for asking question.

I can understand your concern.

You are taking bisoprolol cardio protective drug and amlodipine like antihypertensive drug.

Almost every drug can induce some form of liver dysfunction on prolong use.

Here your enzymes elevated mainly because of hepatitis c infection.

Your main focus should be life style changes to prevent cirrhosis and by this your enzymes will also come low.
-Low trans fat
-fruits more
-green leafy veg
-more water
-avoid smoking
-limit alcohol
-avoid meat, cheese, burger, butter etc
-avoid refined sugar
-safflower , pea nut, olive like good oil

For hypertension take low salt diet.

Gradually when hypertension come low you can take only one drug for hypertension.

I hope your concern solved.
