Do Allerclear, Nyquil, DayQuil Cure Itchy Throat And Runny Nose?

my 18 year old daughter is suffering from allergy symptoms, mainly itchy throat and runny nose. last night she took an AllerClear. She said it didn t help much. today she s asking what she should do. we have Dayquil and Nyquil at home. is it safe to take the Allerclear now, and a Nyquil at bedtime, then a Dayquil tomorrow morning?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Allerclear (Loratadine) is long acting nonsedating anthistamine. Nyquil has antihistamine, cough suppressant and fever reducer, so there is no need to take allerclear along with it.

But, you can take nyquil D which also contain pseudoephedrine - a nasal decongestant. Dayquil can be given in day time which doesn't make as drowsy as nyquil. So, allerclear should be avoided while taking dayquil or nyquil.
