Hi and thanks for the query,
High fever deserves a careful evaluation. considering that this has been going on for quite some time, the origin of the fever needs to be known. It is most probable that the symptoms should be of infectious origin. A blood culture would be most appropriate in identifying the germ causing the fever. Other organisms like fungi could also cause fever, and in rare conditions, systemic diseases. A chest X ray is very appropriate in this case. You have have been having fever for quite some time, it is appropriate to exclude Tuberculosis, generally characterized by high fevers. A complete review by your internist would be most useful. Simple analgesics like Acetaminophen could be used while waiting to reduce the fever. Kind regards
