Dizziness on changing contact lenses, hyperopia. Will getting one lens of lower power help?

I have had contact lenses for many years . But recently I get dizziness after i changed to new contact lenses. As a suggestion from the optician , I get one lens instead of -5 to -4.5 while the other unchanged to let me see closer view or read as I experience hyperopia . I wonder if this suggestion from him works or should i take the exact -5 lens ?
