Discoloration In Lower Lip. History Of Having A Habit Of Peeling The Dead Skin Off. Using Organic Lip Products. Remedy?

I am an African American female and I have a little discoloration in my lower lip. I believe it might be from scar tissue because I did have a habit of peeling the dead skin off for a few weeks, then I stopped and used Vaseline and organic lip products. I stopped using cheap lip glosses from Victoria's secrets and I desperately want my lip color back. it is embarrassing and I am over self conscious! can a doctor please help and tell me what I should do about this. hopefully there's something that can be done about this because it's not hereditary!
