Disc Bulge, Have Tingling, Numbness In Hands, Constant Chest Ache.

Hi Doc, disc t5 & t6 bulge for 2 to 3 years I have had tingling , numbness in hands (mornings bad). Constant ache in chest left collar bone always rubbing this area. Tried acupuncture , physio, remedial massage & chiro. Most offered short term relief (lessened symptoms). Seems like surgery is the next option. My condition has remained the same fro this period of time although I am noticing a lot more numbness in both hands (mornings more so).

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.
Due to compression of this nerve root there is tingling numbness in your arm and pain associated with it.

For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started.
Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.

If nerve compression becomes severe later on then surgical decompression will give permanent relief.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
