Difficulty Swallowing, Giddiness, Nausea. Taken Amoxicillin. History Of Brucillocis. Pain In Leg And Neck

Four weeks ago. In London on holiday from Scotland developed a sore throat, hard to swallow, after a week felt shivery and hot went to a walk in Dr (very pleasant) prescribed amoxicillin. A few days later returned home. The course of amoxicillin ended Tuesday 21st. Felt a lot better but still find it difficult to swallow also feel giddy and sick (bring up frothy spit.) I do not feel very ill just a general feeling of nausea and light headed. Taking lots of water eating small meals mostly home made soup. Yesterday felt so cold.. numb... husband put two more blankets and downie over the bed eventually I began to feel warm...this episode reminded me of the time about ten years ago when I was diagnosed of having Chronic Brucillosis. I had brucellosis as a young child...end of war aunt in the highlands gave us kids milk from her cow. Also two spontaneous abortions .. also diagnosed in America 25 years ago (I went to work there for 2 years.) as having brucellosis. On return to Scotland (1988) took very ill, and was diagnosed as suffering from Brucillosis...had a hysterectomy 1993 that helped a LOT.
Only trouble is that when I went to see the Dr here...five years ago we moved from Aberdeenshire to Angus.
I had the familiar pains in my neck and legs feeling tired I told him that I had been diagnosed many years ago with Brucillosis but had been generally free of the problem since my hysterectomy fifteen years ago . He informed me that I HAD NEVER had brucellosis that the pains in my legs were probably psychosomatic. There was no mention whatsoever of my ever having brucillosis in my notes
Today, (we have to phone the surgery at eight o'clock to make an appointment), but as I feel O.K. not 100% don't think I am an emergency and I have no confidence in asking for an appointment as I always joke I need to be dead before the Dr will believe I am ill.
I stopped taking any throat lozenges and paracetamol last Friday as I thought it could be those that was causing the nausea. One part of me thinks I just have to let the cold take its course, the other thinks maybe I have brucellosis and I should make an appointment...too late now for today, so will need to wait until tomorrow.

Hi, you had throat infection, and got treated with amoxycillin, Returned from london to scotland, had recurance of difficulty in swallowing. nausea, light headed ness. 25 years back you got brucellosis with same symptoms.
It appears to be the recurance of the throat infection, that usually happen, I advise you to consult an E.N.T.surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. It also may be due to gastric irritation due to amoxycillin, for that you may need to use omeprazole, and antacid for relief. Thank you.
