Difficulty In Walking On Right Foot, Pain On Top Right Side, Pronounced Veins, Hot Toes After Eating Outside Food. Any Ideas?

My wife & I just returned from dining out at Thai Restaurant. We had our normal meal - Tom Yum Soup, Papaya Salad, Green Curry. At home, she lay down for 1/2 hour. When she arose, she couldn t walk on her right foot . It is painful on the top right side. Her veins look pronounced there except when elevated. Her toes are hot. She s NEVER experienced anything like this. She is 56, works out often, eats healthy, Height: 5 0 Weight: 99 lbs. Any ideas?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi Raji

thanks for posting your query

Your wife might have an inflammatory swelling or it may be an acute attack of gout.

So it needs limb elevation, ice fomatation, anti-inflammatory drug like ibuprofen.

Inv. like serum uric acid, TLC, DLC is required.

So you have to visit an orthopaedician for exam. of foot.

Regards.
