Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Saw dust exposure can cause sore and swollen throat as it cause inflammation and irritation of nasal and throat mucosa and excessive exposure can lead to coughing spells and breathing discomfort.

So it is always advisable to wear proper mouth and face guards. Single exposure is however less like to cause any serious side effects.

For now you can do warm saline gargles and antiseptic mouthwash gargles. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil or Aleve.

Use saline nasal irrigation and do steam inhalation. If the symptoms worsen consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and a throat examination and a throat swab culture can be done to rule out the exact cause and treatment shall be done accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
