Diagonised hepatitis, taking hepatitis b drugs, improvement in all test. Suffering from erectile dysfunction, errection not stronger and longer. How do i overcome this problem?

Hi, I am a male, 34yrs , been diagnosed with Hepatitis about 2yrs now and have been taken various Hep B drugs ( Liv 52, hepantivir and lamivodine Livolin forte and multivitmins). I am seeing a lot of improvement in my liver function tests , but one problem i am now seeing is Erectile dysfunction which is affecting me greatly. By erectile dysfunction i mean i am not able to sustain erection for a reasonable time and the erection is also as strong as it used to be. This is affecting my sex life. Please doctor, can this be due to the drugs and what can i do to remedy this condition?. Thank you. Bright

Hi there ~

I am glad your LFTs are normal since you are getting treatment for Hep B. You have a very common problem of erectile dysfunction and / or premature ejaculation and it can be easily treated with medications available during this time. The class of medication is called phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors (PDE5Inh) selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and it also helps with decreased libido which is a result of depression if you are going through one. I advise you to consult with a qualified psychiatrist who might be able to help in this regard. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
