Diagnosed with pericarditis, smoke, drink occasionally. How to avoid it?

My husband was diagnosed with pericarditis about 4 1/2 months ago, and now his symptoms have returned. He does smoke cigs. and drinks only on occasion. He is 5 9 and 230 lbs. He was prescribed ibuprofen and then corticosteroids, but his symptoms have now returned. We do not have a regular doctor and cannot afford to go to a specialist please help!!!!

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

It is probable that the pericarditis has returned.
Some do frequently, depending on the initial cause.

Ibuprofen again can help.
May need steroids again - but should be started only on the advice of a physician

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
