Diagnosed With Helicobacter Pylorii, Erethyma And Linear Erosions In The Duodenum. Antibiotics Make Nausea. Alternatives ?
I have been diagnosed with helicobacter pylorii infection and endoscopy shows erethyma and linear erosions in the duodenum . I also have widespread colonic diverticulitar disease and am recovering from a recent period of inflammation/infection. The medications for the helicobacter p infection like flagyll or the alternative antibiotic (begins with c) have made me nauseated and vomiting in the past. Are there alternatives. can I be prescribed an antinausea drug to take with the meds so I dont feel so ill?

Hi,
Since you are a known case of Helicobacter pylori infection along with erythema and linear erosion of the duodenum you have to take the Kit for H pylori infection for 14 days that contains a PPI lke Pantoprazole which will limit the acidity part.
Antibiotics are needed for the eradication of H pylori infection.
Also take a Domperidone for motility improvement and reduce the side effects of medications.
Take an antacid when on empty stomach.
Avoid stress and anxiety as these are known to instigate or enhance the problems.
Soft bland diet.
Boiled and cooled water.
Antibiotic starting with ''C'' means Clarithromycin and this can cause the problems.
It can be replaced with Amoxicillin.
