Hi, Yes usually in gestational diabetes (GD) the baby can be over weight and it will be very difficult for normal labour and the chances of complications may increase as the days progress. C section at 38 weeks is OK. Boyh baby and mother will be good. By Oct 15-20th you will be completing only 36-37 week. Better to have regular followup and based on the baby's condition plan for C section. The Immunity and activities will increase if baby stays longer in womb. So let your doctor decide for the C section.
Hope this helps.
