Diagnosed With Chf. On Medicine For High BP, Diuretics. Have Celiac Disease. Can I Drink A Glass Of Wine At Times?

I am 65 yrs old and was diagnosed with chf last november. i am on a lot of meds for high blood pressure and diuretics.I have been on high blood pressure medicine since my early 40's. What I would like to know is if a glass of red wine would be good for me to have a few times a week. I also have celiac disease, so I feel like I cannot have much of anything to eat or drink. I can only have 32 oz of liquids a day and so I thought wine is dehydrating what about drinking a glass of wine to compensate for my thirst for water. I was a big water drinker before this happened to me.

Hi,
Thank you for choosing HCM
Considering your age and the ailments i would advise you to restrict any kind of alcoholic drink because it may prove very dangerous. Red wine is considered good for heart but in normal heart. Once it is damaged alcohol can cause further damage.
Hope this helps you
Take care
