From the information given by you,it is difficult to say whether she has abdominal TB or not.Just a single blood test is not enough to make the diagnosis abdominal tuberculosis. Fever,dry cough and on and off abdominal pain can be seen in many conditions like respiratory tract infection,viral infection,enteric fever,atypical pneumonia,amoebic liver abscess. Hence here i suggest following test to be essential 1.HB,CBC,ESR 2.RFT,LFT 3.Chest Xray 4.Sputum for Routine microscopy and AFB 5.USB abdomen for ascitis,lintra-abdominal/mesentric lymphadenopathy,intestinal wall thickening There are tests for diagnosis of occult tb also but these should not be the first test to undergo. It is better to get tissue or fluid sample from the suspected site for definitive diagnosis of tuberculosis.This sample is to be sent for routine microscopy,ADA,culture sensitivity for AFB. If you have been already started on tb treatment continue it till the confirmation. Treatment for tuberculosis depends upon type of tuberculosis, category 1 or 2 and sensitivity pattern. If you are suffering from tb for first time, empirically 4 drug cat.1 AKT should be started till the culture report and drugs can be changed later as per the report. Tuberculosis treatment is very effective if taken as per doctors advise. It is not very difficult to treat tuberculosis.You can continue treatment at any experienced physician.
