Diagnosed With A Ganglian Cyst In Synovial Joint Of Thumb, Spreading, Had Carpal Tunnel Surgery On Same Hand. Should I See A Doctor?

I have been diagnosed with a ganglian cyst in the synovial joint of my thumb, (ultrasound test confirmed this), I have just had surgery on the same hand for carpal tunnel and afterwards noticed that around the ganglian cyst area a redness appeared, two weeks later it has gone into hard crustacious skin and seems to be spreading, I have applied calendula oil and various creams daily, but no difference, should I see a doctor?? thankyou

Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM.
Ganglion cysts usually are painless. However, if a cyst presses on a nerve — even if the cyst is too small to form a noticeable lump — it can cause pain, tingling, numbness or muscle weakness which requires surgery.I suggest you to consult an orthopedician at the earliest if you have any above said symptoms.
Hope this answers your query.
