Diagnosed With PID, Gonorrhoea. Suggested Treatment In Two Stages. Did Not Take The Treatment Properly. Currently Pregnant. Will It Affect Baby?

28years, weight is 70, height like 3feet tall(not too sure but am average)
i was told i had PID sometime age and later was told i had an infection(gonorrhea). i went for the first stage of the treatment and was told to get some injection drugs for the second stage. for d first stage of treatment i wasn't that faithful in taking the prescription though and before i could go for the second stage of the treatment i discovered i was already 5wks pregnant. am 11weeks now and no complications though, but hope the second stage of the treatment dat i didn't go for and my not taking the first treatment serious will not affect my baby? Though am not scared but i think about it often. have not started my antenatal yet. Thank. Jo

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hello!
Drug used for the first timester may produce congenital malformation(teratogenesis),and the period of greatest risk is from the third to the eleventh week of pregnancy.
During pregnancy drug should be prescribed only the benefit to the mother is greater than the risk of the fetus, and all drugs should be avoided if possible during the first trimester.
The medication used to treat gonorrhea (cephalosporin) are not known to be harmful.
Take care of or self and your baby
