Diagnosed For RLS. Severe Pain In Legs, Knees When Moving. Have Varicose Veins In Feet. Lyrica Works?

I received a diagnosis of RLS and I don't think I have it. Mega pain (severe) I don't have the urge to move my legs. I can sometimes have pain just putting my socks on in the morning. Pain can be from am to pm on certain days. I do have varicose veins especially in my feet. Pain is usually below the knees. Will Lyrica work for RLS?

Hi,

Anticonvulsant pregabalin (Lyrica) will work for RLS. If these fail to provide relief, opioid pain relievers such as codeine could be tried next.
Opioids might relieve the condition by triggering the release of dopamine, a natural substance in the brain that's needed to control movement. Opioids also block pain signals and have sedative effects that can improve sleep.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Wishing you speedy recovery..
Take care
