Diagnosed By PCOS, Prescribed Folic Acid, Benforce M , Feeling Tired, Giddiness. Should I Stop This?
Hello, recently i was diagnosed by PCOS, I don t have thyroid problem. DR prescribed me folic acid and Benforce - M for three months.I am 25 years old working women. After taking this tablet i am feeling tired and giddiness. Should i stop this tablet but dr said this is the only way to cure PCOS taking tablet metformin
Hi, Thanks for the query. BenforceM contains metformin. This is insulin sensitizing drug. Poly cystic ovary disease presents with symptoms like hormonal imbalance, anovulation, insulin resistance etc. So to control that insulin sensitizers are used. These tablets can lead to little bit of giddiness by decreasing the blood sugar levels. This can be decreased by taking the tablets within 15 minutes of food intake. And if you are taking two tablets a day, that can be decreased to one tablet a day, with your doctor's advice. The other possible treatment options of poly cystic ovary disease are : - Decreasing the weight and maintaining ideal weight for height. -Some commercial products like APCOD power are having good results as told by their manufacturers. You may try these with your doctor's advice. Take care.
